NASCAR TECHNICAL INSTITUTE: TRADE SCHOOL IN MOORESVILLE, NC

At NASCAR Technical Institute, you train in hands-on labs while learning from instructors who have years of industry experience. Students can train for a career as an automotive technician, CNC machinist, HVACR technician, robotics & automation technician, or welder. Those who complete the Automotive program can also enroll in the NASCAR Technology advanced training program.

Automotive Mechanic Training in Mooresville, NC

Located just a short drive from Charlotte, North Carolina, NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville is home to the Automotive Technology program and 15-week NASCAR elective. Your core automotive program will cover the basics of automotive technology, and from there you can dive into the world of NASCAR and learn skills for the racing industry.24 As a graduate, you’ll earn a diploma and will be prepared to test for ASE certification.

CNC Machining Training in Mooresville, NC

Created in conjunction with industry leader Roush Yates, the 36-week CNC Machining Technology program will teach you to craft intricate performance parts and components from raw materials. Upon completion of the program, you’ll earn a diploma and can work with UTI’s Employment Assistance team, which can help to identify potential career opportunities.

Welding Training in Mooresville, NC

NASCAR Tech offers the 36-week Welding Technology program, where students learn four different welding processes. This training was developed with Lincoln Electric — an industry leader in welding technology. This means you can be confident you’ll gain skills the industry is looking for.

HVACR Training in Mooresville, NC

The 39-week heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) program is designed to get students ready for careers in an in-demand industry. They learn hands-on in the lab and cover topics like AC and DC circuits and components, mechanical and electronic controls troubleshooting, piping and fitting basics, and vent system selection and installation.

Robotics & Automation Training in Mooresville, NC

The Robotics & Automation program is ideal for students interested in technology and innovation. This 51-week program gives students the opportunity to learn about 3D design and manufacturing, applied physics and precision measuring, drafting and computer aided design, digital electronics and circuits, and more.

START YOUR ASE CERTIFICATION

A graduate of NASCAR Tech’s ASE Education Foundation-accredited Automotive Technology program can substitute his or her training for one year of work experience toward ASE’s two-year work requirement.

DEGREES & DIPLOMAS

NASCAR Tech awards associate of occupational studies (AOS) degrees to graduates of the Automotive Technology program. All other graduates receive diplomas.

  • What is the classroom learning like?

    UTI follows a blended learning model, which includes a mix of online instructor-led training with hands-on application in the lab.18 This type of training is modeled after what’s used in the industry today and can provide more flexibility for students.

    UTI’s core programs follow this style, except for Welding, Collision Repair & Refinish Technology, and CNC Machining. These programs follow a hands-on learning model.

  • Are academic classes such as math, science or English required?

    While not separate classes, math and science aligned with the learning skills are incorporated into the course teachings, along with industry terminology that technicians need to succeed.

  • Are students required to have experience in order to attend?

    No, our curriculum does not require prior experience and is specifically designed to teach the skills necessary to pursue a career as a entry-level technician.

  • What credentials will I hold when I graduate?

    Graduates earn either a diploma or Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) degree, depending on the program and campus, with the possibility of additional credentials.

  • Can students work while attending NASCAR Tech?

    Yes, students can work and attend school if needed. Our Career Services team can help identify local job openings based on a student’s schedule.
